Online poker has become world famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the dealer rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other players acquire 5 cards. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s first card, you need to either make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the bet comes the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus an amount on par with the ante. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The bank pony’s up money equal to your bet and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
