Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Founded on the ancient Chinese domino game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the far east with the west in a great game for beginner level players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the croupier, unlike most other poker games that players compete against other players. By gambling against the dealer, new players don’t need to be concerned about any other, more knowledgeable gamblers taking their $$$$.
One more Pai Gow edge is the generally leisurely game play, beginners should be able to take their time and scheme while not having to make quick decisions.
It is also much simpler to gamble on for a very long time with only a small amount of money after all, to lose, each of your hands has to be lower than each of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card basic deck and one joker. The gambler is given 7 cards face up and the casino is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be larger than the casino’s.
