Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

April 10th, 2022 at 22:25

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the last poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While participating in net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often plays in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Hansen is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the skill out of big stack poker. Gus is presumed to be one of the best poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amount. I think television can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be players you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found playing web poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in high stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in money games?
