Caribbean Poker Protocols and Tips

Web poker has become globally acclaimed as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the first poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to 21 than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the dealer rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the different gamblers receive five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you need to either make a call bet or surrender. The call wager’s amount is akin to your original wager, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your bet goes directly to the casino. After the bet comes the conclusion. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including a figure equal to the original bet. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The house pays out money equal to your ante and fixed expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
