Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

March 28th, 2018 at 16:25

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the final poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts around the world. While playing web poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus generally buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amount. I think tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best players anywhere in the world might be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be seen participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in high stakes omaha hold’em and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
